The 3rd edition of the Digital Transformation Summit (DTSummit) in Madeira has concluded, marking another milestone in the implementation of Europe’s Digital Decade. For MOSAICO, the event provided a strategic platform to demonstrate how human-centric AI is transitioning from a conceptual framework to a tangible driver of industrial and social impact.
Aligning with the European digital compass
The summit serves as a bridge between the European Commission’s 2030 targets and practical implementation. With the EU aiming for widespread AI adoption and a digitally empowered workforce, MOSAICO’s focused on the workshop “Human-centric AI: from concept to concrete impact.” This session brought together a strong lineup of EU-funded projects, including NARRATE, BIAS, AI:Liner, ELLIOT, and NGI TrustChain. Together, we addressed the technical and societal dimensions of the digital shift:
- Trustworthy AI & data interoperability: Discussing the integration of AI across European Data Spaces, from Manufacturing to Smart Cities.
- Human-Centric design: Ensuring that digital tools support workforce readiness and social inclusion rather than creating new barriers.
- Strategic collaboration: Sharing insights on how cross-project cooperation accelerates the scaling of innovative solutions across the continent.
From policy to practice
The discussions in Madeira highlighted that digital transformation is not just a technical challenge but a horizontal one involving skills, ethics, and security. By engaging with representatives from government, academia, and industry, MOSAICO contributed to defining the pathways for a secure and competitive European digital society.
