From April 21 to 23, the MOSAICO team was in Brussels for the Open Community Experience (OCX) 2026. This event, organised by our partner Eclipse Foundation, is a major gathering for the open-source community, and provided the perfect stage to showcase our project’s progress and vision.
Sharing the MOSAICO vision
A key highlight of our participation was the technical session led by our Project Coordinator, Massimo Tisi (IMT Atlantique). Massimo presented the MOSAICO architecture to an audience of developers and industry experts, focusing on how we are building a modular and transparent AI platform. The session sparked valuable dialogue about the future of sovereign AI research.
On the final day, MOSAICO participated in a strategic clustering workshop: “Open Source Pathways within the AI Ecosystem.”. Massimo Tisi was joined by Sebastian Scholze (ATB) and Jose Manuel Flores Barranco to represent our sister projects, HIVEMIND and ASTIR. This session was dedicated to fostering collaboration between Horizon Europe initiatives, ensuring that our research remains interoperable and that we build a unified, sustainable contribution to the open-source AI landscape.
Networking and community engagement
Beyond these successful sessions, our booth was a constant hub of activity. These three days of networking allowed us to connect with architects, pioneers, and potential contributors. Sharing our codebase and technical roadmap face-to-face provided us with essential feedback that will directly inform our next steps.
Looking ahead
A warm thank you to our partner the Eclipse Foundation for their excellent organisation and for providing such a collaborative environment. The ties we strengthened in Brussels are a major asset for the future of the project.
We leave Brussels with new insights and a reinforced commitment to shaping the next generation of open-source AI infrastructure.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by to meet us. See you at the next edition!
